The Logistics Officer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring the
movement, storage, and distribution of materials and goods to ensure timely support for
Pipe Coating Services operations. This role ensures accurate inventory control,
efficient material handling, coordination with suppliers/transporters, and compliance with
company procedures and HSE requirements.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, including booking transport, preparing shipping documents, and liaising with carriers and suppliers.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, perform regular cycle counts, and reconcile discrepancies in the warehouse management system or Excel.
- Receive, inspect, verify, and record incoming materials; prepare and check dispatch documentation; ensure proper labeling and storage.
- Coordinate with transport providers and the company fleet to ensure timely delivery and pickup of materials, and monitor transport performance.
- Liaise with procurement to track order status, expedite urgent shipments, and
- Prepare and maintain required logistics documentation (waybills, delivery notes, customs paperwork if applicable) and ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with project teams, warehouse, and site supervisors to prioritize and fulfill material requests and resolve supply issues quickly.
- Monitor freight and logistics costs, suggest cost-effective routing and consolidation opportunities, and support approval processes for freight expenditures.
- Ensure safe handling and storage practices, follow HSE procedures, and report any incidents or near misses. Support security measures for warehouse and transported goods.
- Identify and support process improvement initiatives to optimize logistics performance and service levels.
Must Have
- Diploma or degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in logistics, warehouse operations, or materials coordination, preferably within oil & gas, construction, or industrial services.
- Experience with WMS/ERP systems is preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Good knowledge of inventory control practices and logistics documentation.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel essential).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping.
- Basic understanding of transport regulations and customs procedures (if applicable).
- Good spoken and written English.

Nice to have
- Certification in electrical safety, lockout/tagout, or relevant trade licenses.
- Training or experience with specific PLC brands used on site (e.g., Siemens, Allen
- Experience in preventive/predictive maintenance programs and CMMS systems.
- Welding or fabrication skills are an advantage.
- Valid driver’s license.
