We are a leading Foundation Engineering Contractor specializing in piling, diaphragm walls, ground improvement, and associated geotechnical works. We are currently seeking to recruit an experienced Plant & Equipment Manager for our UAE operations and would appreciate your assistance in identifying suitable candidates for this key position.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the company's fleet of foundation engineering and construction equipment, ensuring maximum availability and operational efficiency.
- Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting, overhaul, and repair of specialized foundation engineering equipment
- Develop, implement, and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance programs to
- minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
- Lead maintenance, refurbishment, and workshop operations for all plant and equipment assets.
- Manage spare parts inventory, procurement planning, vendor relationships, and ensure timely availability of critical components.
- Prepare and control maintenance budgets, monitor operating costs, and identify opportunities for cost optimization without compromising operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely mobilization, commissioning, and operational readiness of equipment for project requirements.
- Establish and maintain equipment maintenance records, performance reports, and asset management systems.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, manufacturer recommendations, and statutory requirements related to plant safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Lead, mentor, and supervise maintenance teams, workshop personnel, and field service technicians to ensure high standards of performance and continuous improvement.
- Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve reliability.
- Collaborate with operations and project management teams to forecast equipment requirements and support strategic planning initiatives.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
Must Have
- Education: Bachelr's Degree in Mechanical Engineering r an equivalent engineering discipline.
- Experience: Minimum 15–20 years of relevant experience in plant and equipment management within the foundation engineering, piling, and geotechnical construction industry.
- Industry Exposure: Previous employment with reputable European piling and foundation engineering companies will be highly preferred.
- Technical Expertise: Demonstrated experience in the maintenance and management of specialized foundation engineering equipment, particularly diaphragm wall cutters, desanders, slurry treatment plants, piling rigs, and cranes.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary maintenance teams, manage workshop operations, and coordinate with project stakeholders effectively.
- Communication: Ability to understand and communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Documentation: Proficient in preparing maintenance reports, equipment records, budgets, and technical documentation.
- Computer Skills: Working knowledge of maintenance management systems (CMMS), Microsoft Office applications, and equipment planning tools.
- Safety Orientation: Strong commitment to health, safety, quality, and environmental standards within construction and heavy equipment operations.
