Responsibilities

  • Prepare tender estimates, cost plans, and bid proposals.
  • Issue procurement schedules and track material orders against project budgets.
  • Prepare monthly payment applications and subcontractor payment certificates.
  • Evaluate and negotiate variation orders with clients and subcontractors.
  • Track project costs, forecast final costs, and report on margins.
  • Maintain records of all commercial correspondence, site instructions, and approvals.
  • Liaise with project engineers, site supervisors, and procurement teams.

Must Have

  • Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying or Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Industrial Engineering from a recognized university. 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the Construction, Contracting, Aluminium, Glass or Façade industry, including experience as a Quantity Surveyor within Gulf.
  • Preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for aluminium extrusions, glass, hardware, sealants, gaskets, and labour.
  • Taking off quantities from architectural drawings, shop drawings, and CAD/PDF files.
  • Cost estimation for both workshop fabrication and site installation.
  • Variation orders, change orders, and claims evaluation.
  • Contract types: FIDIC, NEC, JCT, or standard subcontract agreements.
  • Pricing material rates, wastage allowances, and labour productivity norms.
  • Final accounts, retention management, and debtors tracking.
  • Material reconciliation against actual production/site usage.
  • Strong numeracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Excel, estimating software, and CAD/PDF quantity take-off tools.
  • Clear report writing and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
